WASHINGTON, D.C.: TAP CO-SPONSORS RECEPTION FOR NEW COLOMBIAN AMBASSADOR

On November 1st, TAP co-sponsored a welcome reception for Colombian Ambassador Gilberto Murillo in Washington, D.C. hosted by AS/COA. The Ambassador emphasized that President Petro’s administration is sincerely interested in trade facilitation. He also highlighted the diversity of viewpoints in the President’s cabinet, including his own centrist perspective.  


TAP Chairman thanked the Ambassador for his support in saving the production incentives that were targeted to disappear under the new Tax Reform initiative. The Ambassador reiterated that the audiovisual sector is very important to President Petro, as it fits well under the President’s top priorities which are climate change and energy transition. According to the Ambassador, content production is a non-polluting industry which can serve to promote tourism.
